User Folder Changes

First, a crucial change to the User Folder. The default location has been updated from appdata/local/BeamNG.drive/0.36/ to appdata/local/BeamNG/BeamNG.drive/current/. You can still access it using the Manage User Folder option in the Launcher. This change improves file organization and game stability.

New Vehicle – Gavril Grand Marshal Limousine

BeamNG welcomes the ultimate luxury vehicle: the Gavril Grand Marshal Limousine. This coachbuilt stretch limousine features classic exterior styling, five configurable options, and a lavish interior with fancy lights, a bar, and even a TV.

• Fully compatible with standard Grand Marshal parts

Brake Glow for All Vehicles

All official vehicles with disc brakes now feature brake glow. It adds visual flair, especially in low-light conditions, enhancing realism and immersion while driving.

UI Improvements

The user interface has received a modern overhaul to improve performance, reduce lag, and streamline navigation. Key changes include:

• Updated Vehicle Selector with Vue integration
• Controller navigation support and Favorite configurations
• Improved search, filtering, and customizable tile sizes
• Faster asset loading and reduced UI lag

Note: The updated Vehicle Selector is not yet available in Garage, Time Trials, Bus Routes, or Level Selection.

New & Remastered Props

Version 0.37 introduces several exciting props:

Spike Strip

Four different spike strip types, capable of puncturing tires. Can be carried using the node grabber in walking mode.

Pressure Ball

A pressurized gas ball available in multiple sizes and gas types, affecting mass, buoyancy, and physics behavior.

Trampoline

Customizable mat size, frame height, and spring strength for creative stunts and destructive testing.

Large Spinner

Fully remastered with new 3D models, textures, and materials. Now includes:

• Two-arm and mobile variants with tow hitch options
• Industrial electric motor with realistic inertia and acceleration
• Paint presets and colorable parts

Large Hamster Wheel

Remastered with updated physics, materials, and industrial motor. Available in powered, unpowered, and barrel-only configurations.

Vehicle Improvements

Many official vehicles received updates, including:

• Ibishu Miramar: new engine meshes, textures, and gauge fixes
• Conversion of legacy materials to modern PBR
• Cleanup and optimization of textures and materials across all vehicles

Freeroam Crawl System & New Missions

The new Freeroam Crawl system lets players initiate trail crawls directly from Freeroam without loading missions. Features include:

• 26 trails in Johnson Valley and 7 in Utah
• Flag markers for boundaries and checkpoints
• Scoring system accounting for clean driving, rollovers, damage, and reversals

New missions include the VIP Parking Challenge featuring the Grand Marshal Limousine and updated Gridmap v2 challenges with remastered Large Spinner props.

Enhanced Tools for Creators

Modders and map creators get major improvements:

• World Editor now includes modular spline-based tools
• Centralized /assets folder to reduce duplicates and optimize organization
• Replay, Camera Path Editor, and Particle Emitter improvements
• Cleanup of DeformationTriggerRatio across vehicles, trailers, and props

Performance & Optimization

This update also delivers significant optimizations:

• Reduced level texture sizes for Johnson Valley (2.3GB → 1.5GB) and West Coast (190MB → 150MB)
• Lower RAM and VRAM usage, improved Vulkan stability
• General fixes for Track Builder, Flowgraph Editor, and Launcher
